2 traffic enforcers nabbed for drugs

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines — Two traffic enforcers in this city were arrested by anti-narcotics agents in separate stings on Thursday.

Rey Misanes, 48, and John Alvin Sorronda, 23, were dismissed from the service by city management traffic chief Ronald Orcullo following their arrests in Barangay Libertad.

The suspects, who are contractual workers of the city government, did not receive separation benefits as they violated their employment contracts.

Orcullo vowed to conduct random drug tests for personnel of the traffic bureau.

Probers said they recovered from Sorronda and Misanes three plastic sachets containing shabu and marked money.
