Pinoys cautioned on travel to Thailand
MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos traveling to Thailand have been advised to be careful in the wake of a series of small bombings that rocked Bangkok recently.
In an advisory issued yesterday, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) told Filipinos to remain calm, take extra precautions and cooperate with Thai authorities.
“The blasts were heard as Thailand was hosting the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) foreign ministerial meeting and related meetings. No delegation attending the meetings was affected. There were no Filipino casualties reported,” the DFA said.
The Philippine embassy in Bangkok is monitoring the situation.
Filipinos are advised to contact the embassy for information on security-related matters or for assistance.
