Pandacan Bridge to be closed for six months
MANILA, Philippines — Starting Aug. 3, the Tomas Claudio Bridge in Pandacan, Manila will be closed to traffic to give way to the six-month construction of the Skyway Stage 3 Elevated Expressway Project, an official said yesterday.
The bridge will be closed until February next year, according to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) general manager Jojo Garcia.
He said around 12,000 vehicles would be affected daily by the bridge’s closure.
Affected motorists were advised to take alternate routes.
“Parking will not be allowed in the vicinity of the bridge. Traffic enforcers will tow vehicles parked in the area,” Garcia told reporters.
A portion of the bridge from Valenzuela street to Baeta street will be opened to the residents, the MMDA said.
