Farmer dies in Cagayan fire

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — A farmer died in a fire that destroyed his house in Sitio Limbus, Barangay Rapuli, Sta. Ana, Cagayan on Sunday.

Probers said Rufino Baloloy, 67, was trapped when the fire broke out at around 11 p.m. Baloloy’s grandchildren Judy, 11; John Alvin, 9, and Ashley, 7, managed to run out of the house.

The children told police they heard their grandfather say he would burn their house when he was drinking liquor at around 8 p.m.
