Motorbike rams plant box; 2 dead
SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan, Philippines — Two persons died and another was injured when their motorcycle rammed a plant box in Barangay Palaris in this city on Friday.
Reports reaching the Pangasinan police office identified the fatalities as Marc Joel Parangat and Obajaz Avenido, both 21, and residents of Barangay Pangpang.
Manjil Tripathi, 24, a medical student and a native of Kathmandu, Nepal, was injured.
Police said Avenido died at the scene while Parangat was declared dead on arrival at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital.
Tripathi was brought to the Blessed Family Doctor’s General Hospital for treatment.
In Zamboanga del Sur, Jail Officer 1 Junrey Benag died when his motorcycle was hit by a truck along the highway in Barangay Tiguma, Pagadian City yesterday. The truck also rammed a parked wing van. – Roel Pareño
