Sultan Kudarat PNP action center torched

SULTAN KUDARAT, Philippines — Unidentified men burned the newly constructed police community action center in Lambayong town in this province on Friday.

Capt. Herma Luna, town police chief, said probers have yet to determine who was behind the attack.

The perpetrators reportedly poured gasoline before setting the facility on fire.

Lambayong, which is located along the 220,000-hectare Liguasan Delta, is a known haven of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters.

The action center, which is a joint project of the police and municipal government, was set to be inaugurated next week.
