Barangay kagawad killed in gun attack

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — A village councilwoman was shot dead in Barangay San Antonio, Cabagan, Isabela on Friday.

A police report identified the fatality as Beneth Balisi, 54.

The victim was with her daughter Jessa Mae, 21, in a tricycle driven by her husband Jovy when she was attacked at around 11 a.m.

Balisi was declared dead on arrival at the Milagros District Hospital. Her husband and daughter were unhurt.

Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
