7 cocaine bricks found in Quezon

Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Seven suspected cocaine bricks with an estimated value of P35 million were found along the shore of Mauban in Quezon province yesterday.

The blocks of cocaine, each weighing one kilo, were found in Barangay Cagsiay I at past noon.

The Quezon police said a man, who was having a picnic with his family in the area, found the bricks wrapped in packaging tape.

The man reported his find to the barangay officials, who called the local police.

“The discovery was a result of the support of the community in efforts aimed at preventing the entry of illegal drugs, particularly in the coastal areas,” police said.

The cocaine bricks were brought to the police crime laboratory for examination. – Michelle Zoleta
