MANILA, Philippines — A cargo vessel capsized in the waters off San Fernando, Cebu on Tuesday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said yesterday.

The PCG said M/V Eva Mary Grace, with 12 crewmembers, was carrying automotive diesel oil when it sank off Barangay South Poblacion at around 4:30 p.m.

The PCG said the crewmembers were loading cement bags into the ship when it was hit by big waves.

Crane operator Manuel Incarnacion, who was earlier reported missing, suffered lacerations in the leg and was brought to a hospital for treatment.

The PCG said there was no reported oil spill as the automotive oil tanks are intact.
