P25-M smuggled cigarettes seized in Zamboanga

ZAMBOANGA CITY  , Philippines  —   The Philippine Navy seized around 800 boxes of smuggled cigarettes worth P25 million from a motor launch off the coast of this city before dawn yesterday.

Personnel of the Naval Forces Western Mindanao intercepted the MB Parniza in the vicinity of Barangay Baliwasan Seaside. The smuggled cigarettes were supposed to be unloaded in Sitio Estanvac.

Bureau of Customs district collector Segundo Sigmundfreud Barte said BOC personnel have yet to  conduct an inventory of the smuggled cigarettes.
