Student raped, killed in Pangasinan

DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines — A first year college student, believed to be a victim of rape, was found dead in a grassy area along the street in Barangay Bonuan Gueset in this city on Sunday.

Bernadette Saplan, 18, reportedly failed to return home when she went out on Saturday night.

Saplan’s father Bernard said the personal belongings of his daughter were found scattered near her body.

He appealed to anyone who has information about her daughter’s killing to come out to help solve the crime.
