Ex-Batangas vice mayor’s wife killed

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna  , Philippines  —   A woman found dead along the road in Lipa City on Monday has been identified as the wife of a slain former vice mayor of Sto. Tomas City in Batangas.

Lt. Col. Ramon Balauag, Lipa police chief, said Adelina Ramos, 55, was positively identified by her family members.

Ramos’ body, which bore signs that she was struck with a hard object, was found covered with a blanket and a towel in Sitio Timbakin, Barangay Halang.

Police said the victim could have been killed somewhere and dumped in Lipa to mislead investigators.

Ramos’ husband Fernando died in a gun attack last year.
