3 dead in Luzon drug war

MANILA, Philippines — Three drug suspects were killed in alleged shootouts with police officers in stings in  Laguna, Batangas and Nueva Ecija on Monday.

Police said Ferdie Aquino and Nicky Corachea drew their guns when they sensed they had sold shabu with police officers who posed as buyers in Barangay Bagong Silang, Lumban, Laguna and Maligaya, Rosario, Batangas, respectively.

In Nueva Ecija, Reuben Aban, 36, reportedly fired at anti-narcotics agents in a drug bust in Barangay Castellano, San Leonardo town.

Sachets of shabu, marked money and guns were allegedly recovered from the fatalities. – Ric Sapnu
