Woman held for illegal recruitment

MANILA, Philippines — A woman who allegedly duped two persons to pay P418,000 in exchange for non-existent jobs abroad was arrested in Tagaytay City, Cavite on Wednesday.

Maj. Gen. Amador Corpus, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) director, said Danica Nwanguma, was collared in an entrapment at a fastfood restaurant in Barangay Silang Crossing East at around 4 p.m.

Nwanguma reportedly recruited the victims, who were supposed to leave today, to work in New Zealand.

The suspect is being held at the CIDG office.
