BARMM, Pangasinan cop chiefs assume posts

MANILA, Philippines — Brig. Gen. Marni Marcos of the Philippine National Police’s Anti-Cybercrime Group assumed his post yesterday as director of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Marcos replaced Brig. Gen. Graciano Mijares.

On Monday, Col. Portia Bañaga-Manalad was designated Cotabato City police chief.

Manalad, who replaced Col. Michael Lebanan, is the first female police officer given the post.

Col. Redrico Maranan, former Marikina City police chief, took over as Pangasinan’s acting police director. He replaced Col. Wilson Joseph Lopez, who was designated chief of staff in the Southern Police District.

The turnover ceremony was held yesterday at Camp Gov. Antonio Sison in Lingayen. – Eva Visperas
