Coast Guard man arrested for drugs

MANILA, Philippines — An enlisted personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard was arrested in an anti-drug operation in Angono, Rizal on Saturday.

Probers said Petty Officer 3 Herbert Velasco yielded 21 plastic sachets containing shabu and cash including the P500 marked money.

The arrest of Velasco was a result of a surveillance that was based on information provided by a civilian tipster, according to Lt. Col. Noel Campos, Rizal police intelligence officer.

Campos said Velasco, who lives in Taguig, is on the drug list of the Angono police.
