MANILA, Philippines — Three Chinese were arrested for allegedly beating up a fellow Chinese and his girlfriend in Ermita, Manila on Wednesday.

The suspects were Wang Tian Ming, 24; Ding Shenping, 25, and Zhing Qiang Ding, 33, both of Avida Tower in Sucat, Parañaque.

Chief M/Sgt. James Poso of the Manila Police District general assignment and investigation section said charges of frustrated murder were filed against the suspects.

Probers said Wang slashed the neck of Pu Jize, 21, with a cutter.

Pu was rushed to the Ospital ng Maynila before he was transferred to an undisclosed hospital in Makati.

Investigation showed that Pu and his girlfriend, Ge Xiaona, 24, both of Park View Suites in Makati, were drinking in a bar along Remedios street when the suspects arrived and started making sexual advances on the woman.

When Pu tried to stop them, the suspects beat him.

After a few minutes, Pu and Ge stepped out of the bar. But the suspects waited outside and attacked them.

At the height of the commotion, Wang took a cutter and slashed Pu’s neck.

Personnel of the Remedios Police Community Precinct who were patroling the area responded upon seeing the commotion and arrested the suspects.
