Chinese kidnap victim rescued

MALOLOS  , Philippines  —  Police rescued a Chinese kidnap victim in Plaridel, Bulacan on Wednesday.

Col. Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, said a concerned citizen sought police assistance when he saw Li Zhi Peng, with a chain looped around his neck, in a grassy area in Sitio Sumilang, Barangay Bagong Silang at around 5:50 p.m.

The victim told investigators he was held captive for more than a week in a warehouse owned by a certain Charlie Co.

The caretakers of the warehouse, Delfin Batoy and Johnyll Patrialba, were arrested. Five Chinese citizens managed to escape.
