Fire guts Misamis municipal hall

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — A fire of still unknown origin razed the municipal hall of Sugbongcogon in Misamis Oriental on Tuesday night.

No one was reported hurt, but the fire destroyed the facilities, documents and computers in the building. 

The fire, which started at around 11 p.m., was declared out after two hours.

The two-story building houses the offices of the mayor, the town council, engineering office and municipal treasurer’s office. It was reportedly constructed  in 1940.

Concerned local government officials have yet to issue a statement on the incident.
