Woman sneaks 167 cigarettes into jail

MANILA, Philippines — A woman faces disciplinary action after she was caught sneaking in 167 cigarette sticks in her vagina into the Navotas City Jail Saturday.

Vanessa Mae Adducol – who was visiting her husband drug detainee Jay-ar Feliciano when she was caught – will be barred from visiting the jail for three months, according to Navotas jail warden Ricky Heart Pegalan.

She was caught sneaking in cigarettes for her husband when jail guards conducted a cavity search on her based on a tip that she was bringing in contraband, Pegalan said.

The cigarette sticks were wrapped in paper, slipped in a condom, and then inserted in her vaginal cavity. 

Each cigarette stick is sold at P150 in the jail.

Pegalan warned detainees’ visitors that the jail management is serious in its crackdown on the entry of contraband.
