Grenade blast, classroom burned in Zamboanga del Sur

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — A grenade exploded while a classroom used as a storage for defective vote counting machines was burned in San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur before midnight yesterday.
Brig. Gen. Emmnuel Luis Licup, Zamboanga peninsula police director, said the explosion occurred near the office of the Bureau of Fire Protection.
After several minutes, unidentified men reportedly poured gasoline in a classroom at the San Pablo Elementary School before setting it on fire.
An investigation is ongoing.
