MANILA, Philippines — The rivalry between his two children is the most difficult part of this year’s elections, former vice president Jejomar Binay said Friday.

“What happened between my two children. I love both of them,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the miting de avance of his daughter Mayor Abby Binay’s “Team Performance” when asked about the most difficult part of the 2019 polls.

Abby, who is seeking reelection, is running against her brother Junjun, a former mayor.

Binay said he is praying that after the elections, the relationship between his children would return to normal.

Binay is running for congressman of the first district of Makati City.

Junjun, on the sidelines of the miting de avance of his “Team Be Nice” last night, said he is “very confident” that he would win against Abby despite her topping the surveys and getting the support of the Iglesia Ni Cristo.

While Junjun failed to get his father’s support, his sister Sen. Nancy Binay, who is seeking reelection, has been supporting him.
