Drug suspects slain

MANILA, Philippines — Two drug suspects were killed in separate incidents in Negros Occidental and Cavite over the weekend.

Leoner Jalandoni allegedly engaged police officers in a shootout after sensing he was dealing with undercover agents in Barangay VI, Victorias City yesterday.

Police said they seized from the suspect at least 400 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P2.7 million.

Jalandoni’s partner, identified as Janine Cruz, was taken in for questioning.

The suspect was allegedly the leader of a notorious drug ring and was on the watchlist of the regional police.

Meanwhile, in Cavite, Michael Castillo was shot dead by an unidentified assailant in General Trias City on Saturday.

Castillo was walking in Barangay San Francisco when he was killed at around 9 p.m.

He died while being treated in a hospital. – Ed Amoroso
