Laguna mayor’s aide shot dead

LAGUNA, Philippines — The bodyguard of Siniloan Mayor Eduardo Tibay was gunned down at a public market in Barangay Redor yesterday morning.

Alex Guinungco, 45, was declared dead on arrival in a hospital.

Lt. Col. Chitadel Gaoiran, Calabarzon police spokesperson, said the victim was about to ride his motorcycle after bringing his wife to their store when the assailants wearing masks approached and shot him several times.

Probers are reviewing footage of surveillance cameras  at the scene to identify the assailants.
