Roads closed for repairs, procession

MANILA, Philippines — Four major thoroughfares in Metro Manila were closed to traffic yesterday for repairs, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

The MMDA said the Department of Public Works and Highways would repair two road sections along EDSA, from New York street to Aurora Boulevard and from KM 27+019 to KM 26+921. 

Also closed to motorists are the northbound lane of C-5 in front of SM Aura in Taguig and the southbound lane of Katipunan Avenue from FB dela Rosa street in Quezon City.

These roads will be opened to motorists on Monday.

The MMDA advised motorists to look for alternate routes.

In Manila, police will implement a traffic rerouting scheme for the Black Nazarene procession tomorrow.

Manila Police District information chief Lt. Col. Carlo Manuel said the following roads would be closed to motorists starting at 11 p.m. today: southbound lane of Quezon Boulevard in Quiapo from Fugoso to Plaza Miranda, España Boulevard, P. Campa and Lerma streets.

Vehicles going to Quezon Boulevard from A. Mendoza may turn right to Fugoso street, left to Rizal Avenue to point of destination.

Motorists from España bound for Quezon Boulevard may turn left to Nicanor Reyes street, right or left to C.M. Recto Avenue to point of destination. – Marc Jayson Cayabyab
