Chinese murder suspect jumps to death

MANILA, Philippines — A Chinese man accused of killing his girlfriend and her brother in Quiapo, Manila reportedly jumped to his death yesterday morning.

Police said Shao Jie Qui, 35, died after jumping from the fifth floor of the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center where he was taken after he slashed his wrist.

Shao allegedly shot dead Ke Wanting, 27, and her brother at the victims’ condominium unit along Palanca street in Quiapo on Monday night.

Capt. Henry Navarro, chief of the Manila Police District homicide unit, said the remains of the victims were discovered in their room.

Shirong Huang, said to be a business partner of Ke, told police that Shao had been threatening the victim after she broke up with the suspect.
