Couple who kept girl as sex slave nabbed

MANILA, Philippines — A woman and her partner were arrested on Saturday for keeping her 17-year-old daughter as the latter’s sex slave for five years in Pasig City.

The couple was nabbed based on an arrest warrant for rape issued by Judge Carmencita Lacandazo Logan of the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 159.

Brig. Gen. Christopher Tambungan, director of the Eastern Police District, said the victim’s mother abetted her partner in turning her daughter into his sex slave.

Court records showed that the suspect started sexually abusing his stepdaughter at the age of 12.

Tambungan said the victim reported the rape to the local Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), which sought police assistance.

The girl was turned over to the custody of the DSWD, police said.
