Man arrested for raping friend’s daughter in Valenzuela

MANILA, Philippines — A man was arrested for raping the 12-year-old daughter of his drinking buddy after a drinking session in Valenzuela on Monday.

Construction worker Ronel Belano, 29, was arrested after he allegedly went into the room of the girl, a Grade 8 student, and molested her while she was sleeping.

The suspect tried to escape by jumping out the window.

Belano faces a charge of rape in relation to child abuse.
