Magnitude 4.5 quake jolts Central Visayas
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.5 earthquake jolted parts of Central Visayas yesterday.
The quake, which occurred at around 10:53 a.m., was centered seven kilometers northeast of Antequera, Bohol, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
It was felt at Intensity 5, which is classified as strong, in Antequera, and Intensity 4, or moderately strong, in Tagbilaran City, Dauis, Cortes and Panglao island, all in Bohol.
The temblor was felt at Intensity 3 in Batuan and Carmen, also in Bohol.
Phivolcs said the quake had a depth of eight kilometers and was tectonic in origin.
No damage or aftershocks were expected from the quake.
