Couple dead, daughter hurt in road mishap

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — A couple died while their eight-year-old daughter suffered serious injuries when their tricycle collided with a van in Barangay Raniag, Ramon, Isabela on Sunday. 

Police said the tricycle driver, Romeo Vicarme, 33; his wife Tacing, 33, and their daughter Althea were thrown off their vehicle due to the impact of the crash.

The couple died at the scene. Their daughter remains confined in a hospital in Santiago City.

The driver of the van, Ruben Abrenica, surrendered to responding police officers.
