2 Koreans, American fall to their deaths

Robertzon Ramirez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Two Koreans and an American died after falling from buildings in separate incidents in Makati and Taguig City yesterday.

Sangjin Kim, 38, and Sangjun Kim, 36, were found lying on the pavement at the intersection of Makati and Kalayaan avenues in Makati after they allegedly fell from the hotel where they were staying.

Police officers heard a “loud thud” when the two fell, according to case investigator Senior Police Officer 3 Romulos Mones.

He said they immediately cordoned off the area and started an investigation.

Senior Superintendent Rogelio Simon, city police chief, said they are coordinating with officials of the hotel to find out what actually happened. Investigators have yet to rule out foul play.

Meanwhile, Charles Douglas Scott, 64, died after allegedly jumping from the fourth floor of the condominium where he resided in Barangay Ususan, Taguig City at around 2:20 a.m.

The Southern Police District said Scott was dead by the time a team of investigators responded to the scene. They have yet to determine if there was foul play in Scott’s death.
