P500,000 kush seized from 2 students in Muntinlupa City
MANILA, Philippines — Three men, two of them college students, were arrested in a drug sting in Muntinlupa City Wednesday night.
Police seized around half a kilo of “kush,” a type of high-grade marijuana, with a street value of at least P500,000 from Ivan Kidd Lim, Franklin Onukogu Jr. and Louis Gabriel Cemetera Balatbat, all 21 years old.
Lim and Onukogu are students.
The dried marijuana leaves were placed in 11 resealable plastic bags from a Toyota Fortuner (ABQ-5451) and a Mitsubishi Mirage (NK-0579).
Officers from the city police’s drug enforcement unit staged the sting at Summitville 2 in Barangay Putatan just before 11 p.m.
Drug suspect slain
Meanwhile, Murphy Garcia, 30, who was arrested on drug-related charges, was shot dead minutes after he walked out of the Manila Police District Station 1 Wednesday night.
Garcia, who spent five days in jail, was on his way home when two motorcycle-riding men shot him at around 9:55 p.m.
A source said Garcia was arrested Saturday night and was charged with drug pushing and illegal drug possession. He was released for further investigation by the city prosecutor’s office.
