Quezon City cop held for indiscriminate firing

MANILA, Philippines — A police officer was apprehended after he allegedly fired his gun indiscriminately in Sampaloc, Manila on Saturday night.

Senior Police Officer 1 Winifer Molina, 42, assigned with the Quezon City Police District Station 2 in Masambong, was nabbed along Josefina street in Barangay 530, Zone 52.

Superintendent Robert Domingo, commander of the Manila Police District Station 4, said they received a call that Molina had fired his 9mm service firearm at a building owned by Napoleon Cruz, 63, at around 9:30 p.m.

Charges of alarm and scandal were filed against Molina before the Manila prosecutor’s office.

He refused to comment when asked about the incident.
