MANILA, Philippines — Police yesterday recovered a brick of cocaine found in the shores of Mauban, Quezon.

The cocaine, weighing about a kilo, was turned over by a 15-year-old boy at around 3:30 p.m., according to Senior Superintendent Osmundo de Guzman.

The boy told police he found the brick of cocaine at the shores of Barangay Cagsiay II at noon.

“He suspected that his find was poison, so he told his brother about it,” De Guzman said in a text message to The STAR.

The brother, who had heard from the news about the recovery of several bricks of cocaine in other areas of the country, decided to seek the help of the authorities.

Meanwhile, in Bulacan, police seized shabu with an estimated value of P25 million from two drug suspects in Baliuag town yesterday.

The drugs were seized from Cristina Joana Trinidad and Ruth Francisco following a sting in Barangay Sta. Barbara, according to Senior Superintendent Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director.
