2 firemen, ex-cop dead in Quezon road mishap

LOPEZ, Quezon, Philippines — Three persons died and seven others were injured in a three-vehicle smashup along Maharlika Highway in Barangay Pansol in this town on Thursday.

Police identified the fatalities as Fire Officer 3 Ronaldo Alcala, FO2 Cleto Nataño and former police officer  Juanoton Untiveros, 71.

Initial investigation showed that Alcala was  driving a Mitsubishi Adventure with Natanno and Untiveros when it crashed into a truck and hit a Nissan Urvan before it rammed a house.

The injured were  taken to the Magsaysay Memorial District Hospital for treatment. 

In Pangasinan, Eduardo Pedeglorio, 55, and his wife Cecilia, 51, were run over by a bus in San Fabian after they  were thrown out of their tricycle when it collided with a motorcycle on Friday. They died at the scene.

Eddie Laron died after he was hit by a bus while crossing the highway in Barangay Poblacion Sur, Sison also in Pangasinan. – Eva Visperas
