Jobseeker killed by lover

MANILA, Philippines — A woman was shot dead by her partner at a convenience store in Malate, Manila Friday night.

Jenny Rose Manila, 25, was waiting for the approval of her application for a job as a domestic helper abroad when she was killed by security guard Jervis Cabrera.

Witnesses told police the victim received a call from the suspect to meet him for dinner at the convenience store.

Closed-circuit television footage showed the two had a heated argument, during which Cabrera brought out his gun and shot her in the head.

Cabrera, who is at large, reportedly prohibited his partner from going abroad as a domestic helper, police said.
