3 die in Iloilo road mishap

ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Three persons were killed in a collision involving a motorcycle and a tricycle in Estancia, Iloilo on Saturday.

The fatalities were identified as Alvin de la Cruz, 28; Rustom Arostique, 32, and Marilyn Duran, 56. They were declared dead on arrival at the Jesus Colmenares District Hospital in nearby Balasan town.

Duran’s husband Danilo, 60, who was driving the tricycle, was taken to the same hospital for treatment of injuries.

The Durans were on their way to the Estancia Fish Port when their tricycle collided with the motorcycle of De la Cruz and Arostique in Barangay Pani-an.

Chief Inspector Niño Leonard Amar, Estancia police chief, said the motorcycle reportedly tried to overtake, causing it to hit the triycle.
