Chinese-American dies after jumping off NAIA Terminal 3

MANILA, Philippines — A Chinese-American man died after reportedly jumping off the fourth floor of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Thursday night. 

The fatality was identified through his passport as Shau Chang Yee, 69.

Shau was rushed to the Makati Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), Shau jumped from the fourth level of the NAIA Terminal 3 and landed on the third floor near the check-in area.

MIAA general manager Ed Monreal said Shau suffered a fractured skull.

Airport probers are investigating the incident.

Immigration records show that Shau arrived in Manila from Hong Kong on Jan. 28.
