6 hurt in shooting in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines — Six persons were injured in a shooting in Quezon City on Monday.

Witnesses said two armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire as they were pursuing two men riding another motorcycle at the intersection of Adarna Extension and Pilot Drive at around 8:30 p.m., according to Chief Superintendent Joselito Esquivel Jr., Quezon City Police District director.

Six bystanders were hit by stray bullets. Carmen Dionisio, 40, Albert Daymil, 35, Jorlin Bitales, 35, Eden Timbreza, 38, Cecilio Lacsina, 59, and a 15-year-old girl were brought to East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.

Probers retrieved eight bullet casings from a .45 caliber pistol and three deformed bullets at the scene.

The motive for the shooting has yet to be determined.
