Roads closed for Sto. Niño procession

MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Police District (MPD) has closed several roads and implemented rerouting of vehicles for the Sto. Niño de Tondo Fiesta in Manila, which started yesterday and will end today. 

Starting at 2 a.m. today, the 4.7-kilometer route will be closed for the Sto. Niño grand procession:  Sto. Niño Church to Lakandula street, right to Asuncion street, right to Morga street, left to Juan Luna street, U Turn to Pritil, N. Zamora street (Sande), right to Pacheco street, right to Sta. Maria street (Yangco), left to Herbosa street, left to Velasquez street, left to Perla street, right to Sta. Maria street, cross to J. Nolasco street, left to L. Chacon street and back to the church.

Jeepneys coming from Caloocan are advised to turn left to Tayuman street, right to Dagupan street to the point of destination. Those coming from Tayuman street should go to Capulong Road, make a U-turn at Raxabago street to the point of origin.

Meanwhile, all vehicles bound for Moriones street should use Road 10; those heading for Lakandula, Asuncion, and Sto. Cristo streets bound for Divisoria via Zaragosa street should turn right to Delpan street to the point of destination.                         

Vehicles coming from Infanta street using the Velasquez-Infanta Bridge bound for C-2 Capulong Road should head for Honorio Lopez Boulevard to the point of destination, while those from Vitas street should turn right to Jacinto street to the point of destination.

The road closures will also be on a stop and go traffic basis as the procession approaches each intersection, and after the tail-end passes by, the MPD said.
