Go eyes more Malasakit Centers nationwide

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Senatorial candidate Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, former special assistant to the president, said Monday he will prioritize establishing more Malasakit Centers nationwide.

In a speech during the opening ceremony of the Minasa Festival in Bustos, Bulacan, Go said Malasakit Centers would “speed up the delivery of services to patients.”

The Malasakit Center, an initiative of both former Go and President Duterte, is a one-stop shop program wherein the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Philippine Health Insurance Corp., Department of Health and other government office are housed in one location to ease the process for patients in need of medical and financial assistance.

There are currently 20 Malasakit Centers operating in various parts of the country, with one at the Bulacan Medical Center in Malolos City.
