MANILA, Philippines — A Malaysian man is accused of stealing P13.5 million from his employer in Quezon City.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Friday filed charges of qualified theft before the city prosecutor’s office against Keu Meng Earn, 27.

The cases stemmed from the complaint of Genx Sports Corp. based in Barangay East Kamias where Earn had been working as an administrative officer since August 2018.

Representatives from Genx Sports told police Earn stole on several occasions  the money intended for payment of monthly rentals for the condominium units rented by the company for the period September 2018 to November 2019 .

“When they verified to the owners of the respective condominium units, they discovered that all the units under the supervision of the suspect were unpaid,” police said.

When co-employees confronted Earn last Thursday at around 4 p.m., he admitted using the money for his personal expenses.

Earn was turned over to the police for investigation. He opted to remain silent in the absence of a lawyer of his choice.
