LTO admits glitches in licensing process
MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office- National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) yesterday apologized to the public for glitches in its system that resulted in delays in its licensing services.
In a public advisory posted on Facebook, the LTO-NCR said it has encountered problems in the online submission of medical certificates by accredited doctors and clinics.
“We are sorry for this inconvenience but rest assured that we are working on improving the system,” it said.
LTO Memorandum Circular 2018-2157 dated Dec. 7, 2018 required LTO licensing sites to accept electronically transmitted medical examination certificates from accredited doctors and clinics. The implementation started last Monday.
It applies to applications and renewals for driver’s licenses and student permit applications.
LTO executive director Romeo Vera Cruz said some clinics failed to connect to their system.
He said their experts are working on solving the technical problem as soon as possible.
