OTS inspectors to protest lack of benefits

Rudy Santos - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Office of Transportation Security (OTS) personnel nationwide are reportedly planning to wear a red armband starting at 6 a.m. today to air their grievances.

OTS inspectors are responsible for security checks at every airport in the country. The office is under the Department of Transportation.

A senior OTS employee told The STAR said they are asking OTS officials to give their personnel the benefits they claim were announced by Malacañang: annual performance base bonus, leave credit conversion, team building, salary standardization and P15,000 per year.

“We were never given any of that,” the employee said.

He invoked their right to freedom of expression in their plan to wear red armbands, adding that they will not abandon their posts.
