Pasay barangay exec shot dead

MANILA, Philippines — A barangay secretary in Pasay City was shot dead by still unidentified assailants on Saturday afternoon.

Jackielyn Antonio, secretary of Barangay 124, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Pasay City General Hospital.

Reports said Antonio was standing outside the barangay hall along 16 De Agosto street when two men on a motorcycle without license plate arrived at past 5 p.m.

Witnesses said the backrider pulled out a gun and fired at Antonio several times.

The suspects sped off after the attack.

Probers said they have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
