Go: I will serve Duterte until the end

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Former special assistant to the president Christopher Lawrence Go reiterated his support for President Duterte.

“I will serve the President until the end, whether or not I have a position in government,” Go, who is aiming for a Senate seat, said. 

Go made the statement during the year-end gathering of Duterte’s appointees and supporters here at the Arcadia Matina Enclaves.  

Go said Duterte’s trust and confidence in him, after more than 20 years of working together, influenced his decision to run in next year’s midterm elections.

He began working for Duterte as the then mayor’s personal aide and executive assistant.

“I am here today, a senatorial candidate, because of the President and my faith in him,” Go said.

He also called upon his fellow Davaoeños to continue backing Duterte and his initiatives.

“Let’s not abandon Duterte,” Go told them.

Should he be elected senator, Go will focus on health, education, agriculture, housing, long-term sports development, localized peace talks and fire prevention and protection.

His legislative agenda will also include the creation of the Department of Overseas Filipino Workders, barangay welfare and improved benefits for senior citizens.
