MANILA, Philippines— The Mount Pulag National Park advised visitors that the Land Transportation Office will recheck the legality of utility vehicles bringing tourists to the mountain's jump-off points next year.

In its advisory, the MPNP said the LTO may check the legality of the tourist utility vehicles as a “response to complaints against the use of colorum vans.”

“Be advised to be vigilant in registering with tourists organizers or the use of utility vans without LTO franchise for tourists,” the advisory read.

“Your vigilance will save you from inconvenience and problems in the event that the LTO implements checking operations along the roads leading to the park,” it added.

Mount Pulag is the third highest peak in the country at 2,922 meters above sea level.

It is a known popular attraction visited by trekkers during peak seasons like summer and Christmas.

Last year, Kabayan Municipal Tourism Office recorded over 22,000 tourists visiting the national park to climb the mountain.
