Student dies in Cagayan mishap

TUGUEGARAO, Philippines — A 17-year-old student died after his motorcycle slammed into a tree in Piat, Cagayan on Saturday night. 

John Dave Saturno reportedly lost control of the wheel as he was driving at around 11 p.m. in Barangay Sta. Barbara.

Saturno was declared dead on arrival at a local hospital.

Earlier in Pangasinan, a fuel tanker hit a jeepney in Bolinao town, killing 49-year-old Admerio Manuel Jr.

The jeepney, driven by Melanio Bermudez, was about to unload a passenger when it figured in an accident in Barangay Culang.

Manuel was declared dead on arrival at the Bolinao Community Hospital.

Tanker driver Danilo Espinoza was brought to the police station for questioning. – Cesar Ramirez
