CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — The female fatality in an alleged shootout in Cainta, Rizal that also killed a security aide of a lawyer has been identified.

Senior Superintendent Jonathan Calixto, Highway Patrol Group 4A director, identified the woman as Gessmayn Casing, alias Myn.

Calixto said Casing was a cousin of Jun Lagum, the alleged leader of the robbery gang Highway Boys.

He said Lagum, Casing, a certain Barry and Richard Santillan were suppliers of illegal drugs in Antipolo, Cainta, Marikina, Pasig and Taytay as well as parts of Metro Manila.

Santillan was a security aide of lawyer and senatorial aspirant Glenn Chong.

Calixto told The STAR that Casing and Santillan were lovers.

“Chong did not know that his aide was using his car in illegal activities,” Calixto said.

The alleged shootout occurred in Barangay San Andres before dawn of Monday. – With Emmanuel Tupas
