PNPA junks appeal of 3 cadets in sex scandal
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police Academy rejected yesterday the appeal for reinstatement of the three cadets who were sacked from the PNPA over their involvement in an oral sex scandal in October.
PNPA director Jose Chiquito Malayo said they junked the motion for reconsideration of the two third-class cadets and a second-class cadet, who were found guilty of grave delinquency, conduct unbecoming of an officer and acts prejudicial to good order or discipline.
Malayo signed the resolution dismissing the petition of the cadets.
“The evaluation of our lawyer finds their motion for reconsideration lacking of merit,” he said in an interview.
The three cadets were evicted from the PNPA campus in Silang, Cavite.
One of the cadets allegedly forced two freshmen to perform oral sex on each other as a form of punishment for disobeying order while the two others watched the sexual act on Oct. 6.
Malayo said the cadets may file an appeal with before the Philippine Public Safety College, which has supervision over the PNPA.
The complainants returned to their normal duties as plebes, according to Malayo.
